In marriage, most couples do everything together. For Burnett and Paulette Morris, this proved true. They were living like millionaires while profiting from a money laundering scheme in the United Kingdom, which were netting them millions.
They bought expensive jewelry, cars, and had a couple of luxury homes in Jamaica. They even bought racehorses and took luxurious vacations! Where did they get their money? They got it from selling drugs of course. Lots of it. They even rented safety deposit boxes at ritzy Harrods to store their haul.
If that wasn’t enough, the Morris’ claimed benefits, including housing allowance, Council Tax benefit and free school meals for two of their children! If that isn’t a slap in the U.K. government’s face, I don’t know what is.
They were found guilty and the husband received a sentence of seven and a half years and the wife received a sentence of four years and nine months. four others were sentenced along with the Burnett and Paulette Morris.
