Mark Jathan arrested for cocaine trafficking

Ok. So you think you’re a fantastic cook. You decide to open a restaurant because you know this would be good income. Business is going well and you have a steady stream of customers.

Now, what would possess a business owner like Mark Jathan to use his restaurant as a store front for trafficking drugs? The same restaurant that he worked so hard to get to where it is.

Was the money not enough or was it the drugs that made his restaurant so “profitable”? According to the complaint, customers would walk into Mark’s Caribbean Cuisine and go out the back door where drug dealers were waiting to sell their supplies. Chef Mark was arrested for trying to buy a kilo of cocaine in Florida. I guess the restaurant business in not all that it's "cooked" up to be. Mark Jathan is accused of drug trafficking.

Jathan has served his sentenced and was released on August 16, 2013. He maintains his innocence.

  1. This is very similar to Buju Banton story, The US government pays an "informant" who is a convicted criminals, tax payers hard earn cash to to continue their criminal activity to entrap innocent victims, This man probably never seen a kilo of coke a day in his life. Real drug dealers aren't that easy to take down..
